Presentation: Stories You Don’t Know About The Music You Love

Presenters Darryl Wilbur and Mark Schwartz, who teach a rock music course at Suny Orange, will offer a light-hearted look at music from the late 1950’s to the early 1970’s that will include thumbnail sketches of Neil Sedaka, Sonny and Cher, Jim Croce and the male Supreme. (Yes the Supremes DID have one male who recorded on exactly one song. The program is interactive and will include a look at one hit wonders, a trivia quiz about Who’s Who that recorded Carole King songs, and a chance to dance while learning the back stories about the Mashed Potatoes, the Watusi, The Swim, The Freddie, and the Twist.
